More Starbursts Than You Can Shake a Stick At
The Intuitive Way
Although this method takes a little more time, I like it when I need something specific. This lets you control everything - from your line widths to the number you have, even the kinds of colours. This is also the way most people would approach making a starburst, but I think there’s a few tips in here that will help you make a nice one!
Create a background and new blank layer.

Select View > Rulers

Making sure your background layer is selected, drag down a guideline from the top ruler until it snaps to the middle.

Do the same vertically.

You can see that this now gives us a marked middle for our starburst. So grab the pen tool…

And start drawing your starbursts from the middle!

You could apply colour directly to the shape, or using blending options.

I would recommend putting this new shape layer in its own folder. Devote a different layer to each colour to help keep things organized.

Continue drawing more bursts.

Want more colours? Add a new folder and draw them in!

This is what I had at the end, using three different colours and varying widths:

There, I hope this tut was helpful to you, and that you’re not sick of starbursts now.

Hi Vale - did you make sure to load up the Shapes folder? (check above). The target shape should look like a circle, not like a starburst at all. If you still need help finding it, feel free to take a screenshot of your work area and I’ll see what I can do!
Vale & Minty Ferret - The Registration shape is under Symbols in the Custom Shapes. I found it by accident. Hope this helps! Btw…Great tutorial!
