Light Outer Glow…

And a Radial Gradient Overlay. I’ve used a bit of a neon blue for this unfortunate eyeball, but of course you can make this any colour you like. In fact once you’re done with this tutorial you can easily come back here and change the blending options to make a whole range of coloured eyeballs.

Click OK. In your new folders, create another new blank layer. With this layer selected, Ctrl-Click your iris layer to select it.

Your canvas should look something like this at the moment:

Fill this new layer with white.

Select Filter < Noise < Add Noise

Set the amount to around 150%, change the distribution to Gaussion, and make sure Monochromatic is selected.

Now we’re going to blur this up. Select Filter < Blue < Radial Blur.

Set the Amount to 60, and Blur Method to Zoom.

This is what should appear on your canvas.

Let’s erase the inside of that. Pick a nice large, soft brush…

And gouge out the middle of that thing.

Now set the blending mode of that layer to Soft Light.

Tada!

All that’s left now is the pupil. Head on over.
